Moving Energy is a Wapapura project that organizes music events in locations away from the electrical grid using our portable solar powered sound system. During the events we use dance to demonstrate the potential of renewable energy, responsible energy consumption and a conscientious relationship between the participants and the environment where the event is taking place.
Since 2011 Moving Energy has produced many events in different natural environments around Andalucia of southern Spain. The most successful of these has been musical picnics named ‘Perdiz Tropical‘ which take place during the day in a natural reserve facing the Alhambra of Granada. These events consist of mounting our sound system powered only with solar power to amplify the DJ sessions and musical acts. Through music and dance people enjoy a wonderful day learning about alternative uses of renewable energies and responsible environmental stewardship.
In January of 2013, Moving Energy produced the first Solar Powered concert in Colombia. The event was called ‘Sonera Solar‘ and took place in the Botanical Garden of Bogota in collaboration with USaid and their program, Clean Energy Colombia. This event also followed in our format of musical daytime picnics and was a total success with close to 3000 participants. With the presence of national media outlets like Canal Caracol, Canal Kapital and Diario Semana and their live broadcasts during the event on Colombian national radio and television, they helped take the message of music, nature and renewable energy way past the confines of the event itself.
If you are interested in organizing an event with our solar sound system and DJs, please get in touch with us using the form at the bottom of this page.
